Embracing a Purple October

In Honor of Domestic Violence Month, DVAS, Inc. presented Ribbons in the Sky. We gave honor to the survivors of domestic violence and paid tribute to all of the victims who lost thier lives. Veda Brown of Sister's Empowerment Network served as the Mistress of Ceremony and April Sentmanant served as a guest speaker. A beautiful poem was rendered by our very own Vanessa Harris, and our President, Cassandra Johnson gave a brief summary of the Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde syndrome. The guest were served coffee, pastries, and a light brunch. The ceremony concluded with a ribbon release and prayer by Apostel Otha Baker.
